A new report says that food problems are getting much worse. In 2024 1.9 million people could suffer from severe hunger and up from 705000 last year according to Anadolu Agency.
The report also says that the Gaza Strip is the hardest-hit area where all 2.2 million people need urgent food help. Half of Gaza’s people are now in a very bad situation (called IPC Phase 5) which has doubled from a few months ago.
Sudan is also facing a big hunger problem, affecting 25.6 million people from June to September. This is a 26% increase from last year. Because of the conflict more than 2 million people have left for nearby countries like Chad and South Sudan.
Some countries, like Afghanistan and Kenya have seen better food situations but others like Nigeria and Ethiopia are getting worse. Over 1 million more people there are facing severe food shortages compared to last year.
